Meet Scout: the affordable travel insurance option

Scout travel insurance is not a typical type of plan offered at battleface. For our US-based travelers opting for single trip coverage, historically we let YOU decide which benefits go into a policy.

With Scout, we decided to change it up. After years of seeing which benefits our travelers care most about, we designed this one with pre-selected benefits … the ones our travelers find most relevant.

Trip Cancellation

100% of Trip Cost.

125% of Trip Cost.

Provides reimbursement up to 100% of your trip cancellation costs, up to your Trip Cancellation maximum, if your traveling companion cancels or interrupts their trip for a covered reason and you still choose to go but have additional costs.

$150 per day, up to $1,000 to provide coverage for the costs of meals, local transportation and accommodations when your trip is unexpectedly delayed for covered reasons.

Baggage and Personal Effects

$1,000 ($100 max per item) for reimbursement of lost, stolen, or damaged luggage and personal effects.

Maximum of $500 to cover the purchase of clothing, toiletries, and other essential items if your luggage is delayed for a specified period of time.

Travel Medical Expense

Up to $100,000 per policy ($50,000 for residents of NH) for the costs to treat medical emergencies, including COVID-19, during your trip. $0 deductible. Includes coverage for Adventure Activities.

Up to $750, $0 deductible.

$50 per day while you’re in the hospital.

$300,000 for transporting you to the nearest adequate medical facility, or home, in the event of a medical emergency during a covered trip. Primary coverage, plus includes coverage for Adventure Activities.

Available Coverage for Pre-Existing Conditions

Pre-Existing Medical Conditions can be covered if the policy is purchased within seven (7) days of initial deposit, and the entire trip cost is covered.

Scout

Trip Cancellation covers you before your trip starts, in the event you have to cancel your trip for a covered reason. A high percentage of claims we receive are due to Trip Cancellation, which speaks to the importance of this coverage.

Trip Interruption covers you during your trip, in the event you have to return home due to a covered reason. Next to Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption is often the most frequent type of claim we see. You can be reimbursed for the cost of your unused trip arrangements, plus any extra airfare costs to return home.

Trip Delay also covers you during your trip—it can reimburse the costs of meals, local transportation, and accommodations when your trip is unexpectedly delayed for covered reasons.

Yes, battleface plans cover both domestic and international trips. For domestic travel, you must be traveling at least one hundred (100) miles from your primary residence.

Travel protection doesn’t cover everything.  It is designed to provide coverage for unforeseeable circumstances. The information we provide is a brief summary. It does not include all terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions, and termination provisions of the plans described. Coverage may not be the same or available for residents of all states. For a full description of coverage, please carefully read your plan wording or connect with our team to discuss.

The cost of Scout travel insurance depends on several different factors. The top three factors of cost are: your trip cost (you should include all non-refundable, prepaid expenses), and the ages and number of travelers covered on the policy. Trip length is not an issue, as the Scout plan provides coverage for trips up to 90 days in length with no extra charges for longer trips.

For example, a traveling couple both under the age of 30 taking a trip to Italy with total trip cost of $4,000 will pay less for travel insurance compared to four friends all over the age of 50 traveling together (on the same policy) on a trip to Greece and Spain with total trip cost of $15,000.

If you’ve made it this far on the Scout travel insurance page, you know by now this is battleface’s new single trip policy for US residents that comes with our most popular pre-selected benefits with limited add-ons and upgrade options. This plan was designed with travelers best interests in mind based on years of research.

Scout is for travelers who don’t want to spend a lot of time deciding which coverages to select – battleface does the work for you.

The Discovery plan is our modular benefit plan where travelers pick and choose which benefits they want to include in their policy. This gives you the ultimate in flexibility and customization, allowing you to craft a benefit package just for you. Discovery also includes benefits not available on Scout, such as Rental Vehicle Damage and Vacation Rental Damage coverages.

Scout = built by battleface, based on most commonly chosen benefits.

Discovery = built by you, where you decide which benefits you want or need.
